Character Guide - Lone Planetfarer
Everything you need to know about Vita's new battlesuit, a MECH type Lightning Drive Core user.
Introduction
[Lone Planetfarer] (LP) Vita is the new battlesuit debuting in Version 7.8. She is an S-Rank MECH Type Lightning DPS, and uses the Drive Core. In this guide, I will be going through her kit, suitable team compositions, rotations, equipment, and more.
Character Mechanics
Lone Traveller and Planet Quaker Form
Vita can enter two forms. She enters battle in the Lone Traveller form by default, and tapping [ULT] switches her to the Planet Quaker form, which she stays in for up to 19 seconds.
On the first transformation, she unleashes Galactic Onslaught to awaken Star Traveller, while on subsequent transformations a different animation will play. During the animation of Galactic Onslaught, all timers are paused.
During Planet Quaker form, tapping [ULT] unleashes her finisher Nihilation of Planets, dealing Lightning DMG while pausing all timers during its animation.
Intelligence
Vita can have up to 400 Intelligence in battle. The Intelligence system is activated when she enters Planet Quaker form, immediately granting her 200 Intelligence.
Intelligence can be generated through Basic ATKs and Weapon Actives in Planet Quaker form.
Moreover, her Weapon Active can be connected into an enhanced version of Basic SEQ 3 and 4, restoring bonus Intelligence.
Once Vita’s Intelligence has reached 400 in Planet Quaker form, she can consume all Intelligence to perform her Combo ATK and trigger global Time Fracture.
Astral Ring: Rite of Oblivion
Vita is protected by the Astral Ring Specialization: Rite of Oblivion. When activating Astral Ring Specialization: Rite of Oblivion, entering Stellar Outburst activates Intelligence Unleashed Mode and grants her 4 Quantum Mech Energy. Mashing ATK consumes Quantum Mech Energy to order Star Traveller to perform up to 3 special attacks, then unleash her Combo ATK, consuming the final Quantum Mech Energy and exiting Intelligence Unleashed Mode.
Astral Ring: World Star
Vita has the Domain Resonance tag, and is able to support Valkyries protected by Astral Ring Specialization: World Star. During Stellar Outburst, Vita enters Intelligence Unleashed Mode and gains 6 Quantum Mech Energy. When entering the field, she will unleash False Abyss, triggering Resonance Attacks every 0.8s up to 4 times. Once 4 Quantum Mech Energy have been consumed, Vita performs her Combo ATK to consume 2 Quantum Mech Energy, trigger Resonance Attack, and exit Intelligence Unleashed Mode.
Astral Ring: Wheel of Destiny
Vita has the Harmonized Shadow Star tag, and is able to support Valkyries protected by Astral Ring Specialization: Wheel of Destiny. Valkyries protected by Wheel of Destiny can trigger Vita’s Phantom support attack, performing Shadow Star Attack and granting them 11 seconds of Rondo in the Shadows.
Astral Ring: ???
Similar to Deepspace Anchor: First Light (Senadina) in v7.3 before the introduction of Astral Ring: Wheel of Destiny, Vita has a locked skill meant for an Astral Ring Specialization that will be introduced in the future.
While it’s highly likely that this will be the same Astral Ring Specialization that Jovial Deception: Shadowdimmer (Songque) is expected to support, there is currently no information on when this new Astral Ring Specialization will be released or if they will be the same, so please be patient, Captains!
Equipment
Weapon
This is Vita’s signature weapon, Skyveil Feathers: Purifying Wish. It has strong personal buffs as well as a few small teamwide buffs. This weapon provides Vita with more utility and flexibility at the start of a battle due to the increased Astral Ring Intensity generation on her first Combo ATK. Since the Drive Core weapon was only recently introduced, Vita’s alternative weapon options are extremely limited, and the next best option is significantly worse. As such, it is strongly recommended to pull for her weapon. In summary, her weapon gives the following:
Personal Buffs:
An additional 300%/500% ATK multiplier for the Enhanced 3rd Basic ATK for Lone Traveller and Planet Quaker form respectively
15 additional Astral Ring Intensity on the first Stellar Drain via Combo ATK
25% Lightning DMG Bonus
20% Total DMG Bonus
20% Lightning DMG Taken by enemies
18% Total DMG Taken by enemies
Team Buffs:
10% Elemental DMG Bonus
10% Physical DMG Bonus
5% Total DMG Taken by enemies
Weapon and Synergy Level Comparison
Shown above are results derived from a single rotation with the loadout shown in the graphic. First, I will go through the Synergy skills of both weapons shown in the test results.
Skyveil Feathers: Purifying Wish - [Enemies take +2%/4%/6% Total DMG from the character on the field (exclusive). Vita Equip Bonus: Enemies take +2%/4%/6% Lightning DMG from the character (independent).]
While the first buff may not be as powerful, it’s still a nice upgrade to the team’s overall damage. The second independent multiplier will benefit Vita greatly.
Red Star Thunderbolt: Breaking Dawn - [Enemies take +4%/8%/12% Total DMG from Weapon Skill (independent, exclusive).]
A sizeable independent multiplier, though very restrictive in terms of where it can be applied.
The Value of Pi - [Increases Elemental DMG of weapon skill by 4%/8%/12% and Physical DMG of weapon skill by 3%/6%/9%.]
Similar to Red Star Thunderbolt’s Synergy Skill. Equally restrictive, and nowhere near as powerful.
As you can see in the graphic above, the gap between Skyveil Feathers and the other two weapons is quite massive. While not as huge as some other Part 2 Valkyries, it’s still enough to make her performance significantly worse.
Why is the difference so huge? As the signature weapon of Deepspace Anchor: First Light (Senadina), Red Star Thunderbolt is full of buffs exclusive to her. As such, Vita can’t make any use of them. As for The Value of Pi, it’s a foundry weapon, and obviously will never be able to hold a candle to any signature weapon. While Vita’s weapon doesn’t lock a part of her kit behind it, the buffs it gives is more than enough to completely overpower any potential alternative.
Is it worth pulling for Synergy Level 3? Not really. Synergy Level 1 will be able to take you all the way to Nirvana, and it is very possible to even achieve Myriad with it. The only thing upgrading the Synergy Level will do is increase your damage; there’s no increased utility like bonus initial SP or SP reduction on it. It’s much more worthwhile to save your crystals for future releases. However, I still strongly recommend pulling for Synergy 1.
Stigmata
Signature Set - Across Planets Alone
This is the signature stigmata set of Vita. It is far and away her best option, and with it being craftable, there is no reason for you not to get it. As you can see, the individual and 2pc effects of the stigmata set aren’t very powerful, as most of the buffs come from the 3pc effect, so I strongly recommend acquiring the whole set as soon as possible.
Required Materials for Crafting
These are the materials needed to craft the full Across Planets Alone stigmata set. Note that there is an extremely low chance you will ever need to craft all 3 stigs, since pulling for the weapon will likely get you one or more.
Recommended Teams
Vita’s best team consists of Herrscher of Finality (HoFi) and Coralie as supports. It has the highest damage potential due to Vita’s leader skill requiring 3 Valkyries protected by Astral Ring Specialization: Rite of Oblivion in the team to maximise its buffs. Moreover, buffs provided by Valkyries protected by other Astral Ring divisions are usually restricted, benefitting only Valkyries under that division, which Vita isn’t a part of. The more general buffs provided by HoFi and Coralie hence benefit Vita the most. While this may seem incredibly restrictive, especially for those without HoFi, her team options will eventually open up as more Rite of Oblivion Valkyries join the roster.
Vita can also function as a World Star and Wheel of Destiny support due to her having the Domain Resonance and Harmonized Shadow Star tags.
Rotations
Vita DPS Rotation
Astral Ring Rotation
This is the opening rotation, the first one Vita will do once she enters battle. Due to an abundance of Astral Ring Intensity bonuses that only apply once, the inputs leading up to the activation of Stellar Outburst here won’t necessarily be done again in the battle. However, inputs during Stellar Outburst will remain the same.
Below is a video example of the rotation.
Non-Astral Ring Rotation
It’s rather ironic that the Non Stellar Outburst rotation takes longer than the Stellar Outburst one. Though in practice, quite a bit of this rotation can be ignored as the transition phases of some Abyss bosses allow for extra Astral Ring Intensity regeneration or for HoFi to farm Descent points for her Combo ATK.
Below is a video example of the rotation.
World Star DPS (Vita Support) Rotation
Nothing really changes for ScI’s rotation, just that she has different supports now. Players who are familiar with her won’t have issues learning how to carry out this rotation.
Below is a video example of the rotation.
Wheel of Destiny DPS (Vita Support) Rotation
Since the playstyles of Wheel of Destiny Valkyries are quite selfish, with them taking a majority of the field time, their personal attack inputs won’t change. The only difference is the inclusion of Vita’s rotations.
Below is a video example of the rotation.
Should I pull?
Vita is an incredibly strong Valkyrie with a unique kit and is quite easy to pick up. Needless to say, she will be extremely effective against any existing Lightning and non-Phys BIO bosses or ones that may come in the future. While her teammate options are quite restrictive, this will no doubt be alleviated as time goes on with potential future Rite of Oblivion units being added, and her kit makes her a good futureproof investment with support buffs like Elemental and Physical Breach, the latter which no other Valkyrie has at the moment, and the ability to support an upcoming Astral Ring Specialization like Jovial Deception: Shadowdimmer.
For newer players looking to spend their crystals, Vita is a great investment. Coralie, who synergises well with her, is free, and so is her weapon. HoFi and her Divine Key may be more inaccessible, but if you do manage to get them somehow, Vita will perform incredibly well. I strongly recommend pulling Vita and her gear.
For older players with more established accounts, Vita will still be an incredibly useful pull. As a strong support and great DPS with potential to be even more important in the future, I believe that going for her won’t be a bad idea, and there is no real indication that her relevance will fade quickly.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Vita is a strong addition to any account’s roster, being able to cover both the MECH and Lightning type niches easily. With her abilities being set to be able to allow her to act as a support for future releases, I have no doubt she will be relevant for the foreseeable future.
